Bring an ice chest and buy a few dozen billy's boudin balls to stash in your freezer. You'll thank me later.

Regular boudin - The Best Stop or NuNu's is the best to me no doubt in my mind. They are both very consistent with seasoning, are more meaty with less rice, and you can slightly taste the liver. I can't a boudin that had too much rice.

I stop at Karchner's whenever I'm out that way, But Chris's Specialty meats in BR has some damn good boudin and cracklins among other things.

Kartchners definitely ships but it is pretty damn expensive especially if you're on the west coast. My buddy in San Diego ordered about $300 worth of sausage, tasso and boudin and it cost another $200 to have it shipped. They overnight it with dry ice apparently.

Also, saw Bourques in PB. I can demolish a whole tray of their jalapeño sausage bread and not blink.

That is some good bread. Haven't had any in ages, though.

I have always liked Karchners but the last 2 times I bought there, the boudin was so wet it was leaking. It was like rice and gravy in a casing.

Last several times I bought from there I had huge chunks of gristle/fat in the boudin. That being said, Billy's is still better.

This the Chris' on Millerville? Last time I went in there and asked, they told me they didn't make cracklins in BR, only the NO store.
