Hard to beat a Marlin 60 but what is y'all experience with other inexpensive models?

I have a Marlin 60 and a Ruger 10/22.

If you want an out of the box gun get the Marlin.

If you want to tweak it with barrels, stocks, triggers, etc, get the Ruger.
I have both.

If you want one that is just a fun gun, get a S&W 15-22 (more expensive but much more fun to play with)

I purchased a Marlin xt22 mag it's a tac driver. I liked it so much I purchased a xt22 with a tube fed mag, it shoots shorts, longs & long rifle. I run everything through it but I really like the sub sonic shorts it's hilarious how quiet it is.

If you want a magazine version of the model 60 the 795 is a great rifle. I love my 3 10/22s but I've never had one run perfect straight out of the box.

It was cheap and I'm not big on the make, but I bought my youngest daughter a full size (not the 3/4 size pink camo) Savage .22 bolt action for her birthday two years ago. I've been incredibly impressed, for what I gave for it. The damn thing is as accurate as any .22 I've ever laid my hands on.

Savage 64f can be found at walmart for around $90. Reliably goes bang and hits what you aim it at.

I put my "fancy" rifles to the back of my safe and either take my Weatherby Vanguard .308, or my Savage 110 7Mag, depending far I may shoot.

I was a rifle snob, then I got that Savage, put good rings and glass on it, don't care if it gets wet, muddy, scratched.....it's a tack driver.

60 is proven.

I like the versatility of the 10/22.

I bought a CZ 452, used, for $300.

It's the most accurate 22 I have ever shot.

Sorry for the downvote, fat finger went the wrong way.

I agree with you on the CZ 452. Lots of info can be had on rim fire central’s forum. They also have a classified section too.

No biggie on that, sir.

The reason I said the CZ, the OP said inexpensive 22.

They can be found used, and they are in the inexpensive range.....and dang, are they accurate!!!
