I can’t wait to hear the jokes that come from this, but I do have a serious question. What license would I need to harvest and sell beaver? Do I have to trap them or can I just shoot them with a rifle? Hopefully there’s 1 serious reply in this thread

Have to have a trapping license and be in trapping season to sell pelts. Selling pelts taken with a rifle is illegal.

LINK

That link has the info you need.

Also, I literally Googled "Louisiana beaver trapping license" and that was the first search result. I don't understand why some of these questions make their way to this board.

Crushed purple velvet suit, hat and cane
Remember to keep your pimp hand skrong.
Beaver will bring next to nothing and if you have ever skint one it will be a single skintin.

One word: laziness.

It's the same reason all generic questions get asked.

It’s a social networking site. People join to be a part of a group and socialize. Don’t be a curmudgeon.

You can take nuisance beavers with a regular hunting license.

Ain’t worth it brother. Fur prices are a joke in Louisiana right now. Prime skinned and tanned beaver pelts only brought $5.00 last moth at the auction. Green pelts brought $4.00. Coyote pelts sold for $7.00 and bobcats went for $20.00. No value for the following pelts: Coon, mink, muskrat, skunk, possum.

Right. It's not a reliable source of information or regulations though. Those can easily be found elsewhere.

Can't tell you how many times I've seen dumbasses give the wrong information on Facebook hunting groups. It's worse when the information is readily available and can be found much quicker than waiting for someone on a message board to give you a serious (and correct) answer.

They actually taste really good. I killed one last month. Thing was huge. Prolly 45 lbs. I skinned it out and plan on tanning the hide at some point. I kept the skull for a European mount. Cooked on of the hind quarters like a pot roast. It was delicious.

The only way our local buyer would even touch them is if they were tanned in a circle. We tried hard to not catch them.
