I have seen Keith Lusher catching some big fall trout in Bayou Lacombe. Is the only boat launch in the vicinity the one on Lake Road? If so, can you safely launch a bay boat there? Thanks.

On Lake Rd. You can launch anything narrower than 10 feet without an issue. I've launched out of that spot several times this year.
The launch is paved and I'm guessing around 12-13 feet wide with a raised curb to keep you on the pad. The dock is on the port side, open to the Bayou on starboard.

It is a pretty nice launch but it gets pretty busy because there is only one backdown.

Been years since I have used it.
When I went the parking lot was gravel and the boat launch was concrete.
It was fairly nice.

There is a launch down the road that the Catholic Church is on. That may be the one y'all are talking about.

No. If he wants to fish the lake, launch at the end of Lake road, almost all the way to the lake. As mentioned above, plenty of parking, good back down, close to lake. Only possible issue with that area is if the tide is really high the entire parking lot and road to the launch can be flooded.
If you go, stop at Bayou Adventure (on the corner of 190 and Lake Rd) for drinks, beer and food from their awesome kitchen. They even carry live bait if you need it.

The road is junk bc of repeated flooding, but you can launch most any bay boat just fine save for when water is really low and that won't be for a while into later fall/winter.
