Holy sh*t, I severely underestimated the cost of a jet

Guess that's about right though...an older model turbo-prop in good shape will sell for $2,000,000.

And that explains everything. You in the fam. or an acquaintance? Oh, and tell him to sell that jet and buy the Hornets next time you see him

we have the 1900 Nautic Star offshore edition as our fishing is out of Bay St.Louis and mostly at cat island or running to the LA marsh. We love it, have the Yamaha 150 4 stroke on it although my dad is thinking about upgrading to the 21. trailer is cheap but it is kept on a lift except for when its being serviced so we don't care

It's prolly been said before but for the best deal buy newly used and preferrably from an individual. Also take realistic evaluation of how often you're actually going to use the boat compared to how much you'll pay per year. Some of these newer high end boat notes are more expensive than a weekly charter trip before you factor in fuel and maintenance cost along with the hunting and holiday seasons when the boat is mainly sitting in storage. Good luck

Wish I could find one of those stickers. I found the ones for the engine. May have to go to a dealer for the boat.

Would like something with a shallow draft but still could handle decent weather.

Drafts 8 inches and can handle the slop. Built like a tank, but not extravagantly so. Real damn nice but if you can find one used it'll be worth it.

Shearwater,

I'd put that into a category of its own.

Not sure on the above but if you've got any Nautic Star bay boat questions feel free to holla at me on here. My 2110 (2011 model) has just about made 1 year. Love the boat and have had good luck just calling the people at the plant for info, they've been very helpful. good luck with the new rig

Thanks. Only things left to do are:
Find out if oil is even wired for the smartcraft gauges(showing no oil)

Wire new depth finder to bow. Thinking trim switch lines, but new to this

Replace trailer brake system...arrrrrrg

Install 1 or more bigfoot switches.

Find a way to make new stereo head unit more secure. May have to make a back bracket or tie in a piece of steel strip.

new. I've seen more deals around for skeeters than i have on shearwaters. By quantity alone, there's more skeeters to be had out there.

From page 2 of this thread :

Yep. Used to work at a dealer who sold them, got to demo them all the time in Lake P with customers. They ride pretty well, solid built, but big bucks. One thing they were on the front end of (talking about back in 1999-2000) was the idea of elevating the center console to create more foot room inside the boat. Lots of manufacturers are doing that now but they really were one of the first to install that design.

Most likely, and they'll probably be overpriced
