AlxTgr, I thought about something. If the water pressure is TOO low, the smartcraft guages will sound the alarm.

That said, there are 3 levels of smartcraft guages. We have the 2nd level. The lowest level may not do that
Not sure of mine, but the engine is pissing as strong a stream as my 5 year old.

Oh, and my brother advised me our fuel guage isn't working anymore either...
Looks like I'm going to start carrying fuel soon. I want to run it enough to see if it moves, but don't want to get stranded.

FWIW, he said technically it still works. It will register full if there's any fuel in it, and empty if there's not.

You've got 60 gallons, and at cruise, you'll get about 3mpg with that Opti. 180 miles is a helluva long way to drive in one trip. I've never done it, and I've run from Rigolet's Marina to Delacroix thru Hopedale in a redfish tourney. Didn't come CLOSE to running out. Just fill it up after every trip, and you'll never have to worry.

All that gas in the boat sure came in handy for my brother after Gustav...lol.

Also, with what gas prices are supposed to do this summer, might not be a bad idea to fill it up now.

I hope you're putting some kind of stabl or ethanol treatment in there with all that gas sitting in there all the time

The way I fish now, I rarely burn more than about 8 gallons on a trip.

FWIW, my brother called a little while ago and told me he cranked it on the muffs today. Cranked first try just like it always has. He said it idled rough for a little while, but then smoothed out.

He is extremely anal (not like that), and keeps the thing up to the point of overkill. I told him about Alx's boat going for 14K, and about it having been repainted. He promised me I was gonna think mine was repainted, because he waxed it up this weekend.

One other thing, I'm pretty sure there's never been ethanol in this boat. I know when I fill it up here in Purvis, there is a station without ethanol that I use...and he claims to do the same when he has it.

I luckily have a LA express by my house that sells ethanol free gas. All my toys are fueled there

Stumps on Airline in Gramercy has ethanol free, we fill up the boat and all the gas cans there.

The Johnson hates ethanol. Idles like shite with it, even if it's 93 octane. We only run 93 octane in it though. It makes a difference and we don't burn that much gas anyway for the most part.

here's our 1910...unless you're gonna be fishing several adults often, i think it's almost better to go with a slightly smaller boat. obviously not as good for open runs, but with where you'll be fishing that's not as important. the thing will float in almost nothing. it's been a great boat

You keep your boat in a hangar? Or do you keep a plane in your boat shed?
