It's certainly the smallest of the issues.

No speedo or water pressure, and gas says full all the time
With the Smart Craft guages, we can tell how many MPGs, how far until empty, etc...nice guages. As far as speedo, doesn't matter like was mentioned. GPS is the only accurate speedo for boats anyway.
Wife like the jump seats?

I've never had any if those gauges so I would think so
With a big tank the gas gauge is the only one I'd see being really helpful. We put a tach on ours, just because you have to watch it or the motor wants to run above redline at full throttle. We need to get the prop worked on

quote:Yes, yes. That gauge says full. It may be for all I know. The seller told me he filled it after every trip. I hope after some use it shows under 100%. Problem though. Those gauges are showing some sort of oil issue. Oil reservoir is full. No idea.

Yes, she likes the seats, and pretty much everything else about it.

Oh, and those gauges show really low water pressure even at high speeds. Bothers me.

Yeah, I'd have that checked out for sure. We haven't had a problem with them, and if you could get em working, it'd be good. Also, they might BE working, and if so, you need to have that water pressure deal checked out fo sho.

What's an acceptable pressure at WOT?

Good idea to keep it full after every trip. Helps cut down on the condensation in the fuel tank. Water is your worst enemy in fuel on a boat. Dont ask me how I know. The oil alarm could be faulty or it could not be getting enough. Never ran opti's but I know on Yamaha's there is a filter on the oil resevoir that you need to keep clean. There is also a pump. You need to get these checked out ASAP so you dont blow a powerhead. As for the water pressure, go have your water pump changed out for a new one. The impeller may be worn. Boats are fun but coast some coin to keep running top notch.

I'll tell you Tuesday evening. I have been deployed to Chicago and Knoxville nonstop since May 2010, and haven't even BEEN IN THE BOAT since April 2010. I don't remember.
But I'm home for a week and I'm headed to Hopedale Tuesday.

I've been home for holidays and long weekends a few times, but I have kids/family to see, and boat trips are at least all day affairs for me. I live in MS but only fish in LA, so there's travel involved. That's why I canoe/kayak fish a lot...easier and shorter trip without having to clean/maintain the boat. The boat stays in Prairieville with my brother. He doesn't use it too much either though. Probably no more than 3-4 times/year. Boat's in great shape for a 6 year old rig. LOW hours, but we did put it thru the ringer in '06 and '07 fishing redfish tournies.

What kind of boat?
I bet you're looking forward to that trip then

2006 Nautic Star 1900 with a 150 Optimax. Same as Alxtgr.
Except mine's prettier because it's not red.

How much you ended up getting it for? If you don't mind me asking...

AlxTgr, I thought about something. If the water pressure is TOO low, the smartcraft guages will sound the alarm.
That said, there are 3 levels of smartcraft guages. We have the 2nd level. The lowest level may not do that.
Oh, and my brother advised me our fuel guage isn't working anymore either...
