So they by cumulative inches rather than pounds?

Correct. Using tourneyx so it's a CPR (catch, photo, release) format.

Yep. The two he had over 23” were legit 8-9 pounders. Caught both within minutes of each other. Unreal

I like the inch per fish over the weight of fish method, I don’t know if they’re on a slot limit lake but I’d like to see it used on all slot limit lake tournaments.

I’ve never once considered how many inches long a bass might be.

As of now, it's the only reasonable way to have a kayak tournament while also promoting the healthy release of a fish. The sport is growing fast though, so it will be interesting to see it evolve over the next 5-10 years, and what technology might change.

Never fished a lake with a slot limit? Or one with a MLL at least? Like Toledo Bend.

That’s pretty impressive. PK Lake had a fish kill from a golden algae bloom several years ago, if I’m not mistaken. It has been bouncing back but sizes were still not what they once were. If it’s making a comeback, that’s great news!

Just watched a video on this. The results of some studies showed 30% of bass that were released immediately ended up dead and many of them died a few days after being released.

Biggest factor was the temperature of water. I think it was 77 degrees and over there is a high chance the bass will die. With water temperatures below 77 most bass survived when released.
