Spotted one flying over River rd/Brightside. Never seen them around these parts before.
Thought this would be a cool story for my bros.

there is a nest on BREC's Farr Park property. You can't see it unless the leaves are off the trees. Its about a mile south of Brightside Lane and .5 miles east of River Road.

15 years ago we lived just off the LSU lakes on the opposite side of LSU. I had never seen a bald eagle but really wanted to. After a fishing trip I was cleaning our boat, looked up, and saw a gorgeous bald eagle perched in our neighbor's water oak. It was literally awesome. Strange, too, since the neighborhood is mostly small 1940's houses on small lots so it's very urban. I called our neighbor who was an older widow who had lived in that house for more than 50 years and had never seen a bald eagle either. She got a great look that day. My wife and FIL also got to see their first bald eagles. Since then I've seen hundreds of bald eagles but that day still stands out.
