Baitcasting Rod Recs

I am looking for a good baitcasting rod for throwing 1/4-3/8 oz jig heads with a soft plastic. My castaway rod just snapped in half the other day and I am looking for a good replacement between $80-$150.
Thanks in advance

Kistler Argon 6'10" Medium/Fast: Pop Jerk Crank - $149 (on sale from $219)
This rod is PERFECT for what you are wanting to do. I absolutely love it and can't recommend Kistler enough. Just killer rod.
ETA: I use it river bassin' with moving plastics like swimbaits, wobble heads, etc... and it is dynamite. Ultra sensitive, lightweight, and plenty of backbone with a fast tip.

I'm a Fan of Falcon- Buucoo series. St Croix is nice as well.

I love the feel of those rods, but I'm a cork die-hard so I find it hard to fish with the EVA foam. I know it is silly, but it just doesn't feel or look right to me.

13 fishing makes a rod called a "Fate / green). Give it a try. Prob my favorite inshore rod and Im picky.
Prob $70 at academy.
*I insist on cork handles. The others get slimy.

+1. But I don't like the Buucoo SR, try to find one of the regular Buucoo rods that are black not grey. Its my primary jig pole for trout.

Premier Custom Rods are more than your budget, but worth every penny. Mine came out to $220 and I can't say enough good things about it. He's on Facebook located in New Iberia.

While we're talking about it Kistler, Kistler, Kistler. I have a boathouse full of Kistlers. KLX, Helium 3 and Magnesiums., casting and spinning. I spent a fortune on them so I stand behind them! Go Kistler!

Get you a $69 falcon from academy and call it a day. I’m way too rough on my equipment to spend more than that on a Rod. Plus academy will swap it out anytime I manage to break one.

I have a falcon coastal 7'6 M that I fish with and like it. They have a full cork grip. 7' is probably more ideal but I got the 7'6 at a killer deal and has worked out well for me.

Lew's custom lite speed stick
I bought the topwater rod (6'8" ML) a few years ago. Great rod. Don't care too much for any of Lew's other rods, though.
In that price range there are plenty of good options. A lot of good suggestions in here. I'd also look at the Denali Kovert Lite series. They are some of my favorite in my rod arsenal.
ETA: I also bought a H2O Ethos micro rod from academy a while back just as a backup rod for plastics. And honestly I really like it. It also helps that I can exchange it if it ever breaks. Only $80 I believe.

I have a Castaway Invicta 2--6'9" M/F that would do exactly what you are asking perfectly.
Selling all my rods bc I've switched almost exclusively to Kistler. username@gmail.com if you are interested.

I have one that's at least 15 yrs old that I still fish with all the time. After All Star fell off I think Falcon is a no brainer at that price point. Also they make freshwater and saltwater specific rods so you can pick one that's more fine tuned for your needs.

One thing I’ll add too, which is totally preference...I prefer Medium Fast action rods for my jighead/soft plastic rods. Many rod companies use Moderate or Mod-Fast for their inshore rods.
I fish mainly the east side of the state, where the water is less salty, and the grass is usually prevalent. I need that stiffer rod to pop the jig out of grass a lot. More moderate tapers don’t seem to cut it for me. If I’m fishing say Grand Isle, it doesn’t matter as much. Just my two cents.

I have some high end rods, if you are casting all day every week it's worth it. (they break the tip easier)
For the money, Falcon started using lighter blanks lately. I have a medium light that is perfect. I think it is a model SC-67MLS
