My best guess says yes. They do come in several forms of black and white, black and yellow and they have that little spike on the end like the pic shows.

Tent caterpillars.

Throw them in a cricket can and use them for bream bait

Last pic is. First two pics are great for bream. This time of year is the best time to catch bream with a popping bug, because the caterpillars are falling out of the trees and the bream are fighting over who gets there first.

If the pic is on the side of a catalpa tree, yes.

Both pics in my response are catalpa worms. Here is a cool article on catalpas.

I just planted 8 catalpa worm trees around my pond. Can’t wait for them to get big.

You are right. I mistakenly thought the second pic( your first pic), was of those little grey caterpillars. Those are the ones I was talking about falling in the river. May be catalpa of some kind, I don’t know. I always thought they were and based my fishing on them, but someone once told me they were not catalpas.

Understandable and there is a definite resemblance. And they do catch bream like crazy.
