Are fruit trees self pollinating

Multiples would always be better, but not always necessary. I've got an old text book from college. Ill see what I can find.

I think apples and pears cannot be self. Must be cross pollinated.

I know blueberries and blackberries need to cross pollinate, but citrus trees don't.

depends on the type of tree. some self pollinate, some cross pollinate. i prefer multiple trees, though. betters your odds in case one doesn't produce or doesn't produce much
