Used really just for fun and occassional hog hunting. Wish i could afford thermal optics and a silencer - but thats just not happening.

I dont really have a budget for it, but like to stay at or below $300.

What do u guys recommend? Any sales goin on? Saw the post about Midway’s $299 Sig Scope/Rangefiner combo.

I’m a fan of the Nikon stuff in the $300 price range.

I prefer a 1-4 or 1-6 on a 223/556 AR15.

Most of my ARs that are used for hog hunting are setup with just red dots and no magnification. The .223/5.56 is a flat shooting round so I sight it in about 1.5" high at 100 yards. That leaves you hitting the size of a tennis ball from pretty much 0-250 yards. If you have to have magnification then do a 1-6x or something similar.
