Water hyacinth. Kill it before it spreads. From the Amazon, and all over Louisiana. Chokes up everything.

Kill it immediately. It will take over a small pond in less than a year. I'm talking 0% open water.

Apparently it is plastic bottle plant from the trash on your pond.

4 bottles and a golf ball.

Gonna need more golf balls to attract a gator.

If it’s a relatively small amount I would also mechanically remove what I could with a garden rake.

I rake it out of our pond a few times a year and have not had to chemically treat it.

I use a combo of 2-4D and roundup, plus surfactant. Kills everything.

It's a suburban pond where all storm drains in the subdivision lead to it. It will never not have trash.

If you look at the scale of the other objects in the foreground, it is most likely a softball. I'll know later when I organize a cleanup and end up being the only guy in the neighborhood that shows up.
