Wanting to get back into the real camping. Any good recommendations for a sleeping bag?

Looking for something rated to at least 20 F to keep most southern winters an option.

TIA!

Not sure how much you want to spend, but amazon has the Coleman 0 degree mummy bag for $40 right now.

Going to be carrying it in a backpack or drive up camping?

I don't know if you are hiking with it or not.

But eBay has a ton of the military 4 pc sleeping systems.

More likely drive up camping or very short hikes. This one is for the wife.

Marmot Mavericks

Since you aren't "hardcore backpacking," I would recommend this one. Add a liner for colder nights.

It's roomier than a mummy bag, but takes up less space than a rectangular bag. One thing to remember is getting a good sleeping pad to insulate you from the cold ground.

Military bags are good but heavy.

For backpacking Western Mountaineering. I have a Megalite that keeps me comfortable down to 20. I'm a fairly cold sleeper to.

I haven't bought a new bag in about 10 years, but Western Moutaineering and Feathered Friends used to be the best bags out there. However, they are not cheap! Unless you're planning a serious backpacking trip or have cash to spare, I'd have to pass.

For your purposes, I'd recommend a Marmot. Decent bag that you should be able to get on-line relatively inexpensively.
