Just pulled the trigger on a case of 2 3/4" #5, I wanted to order a couple of boxes last season but they were on backorder for months.

I also ordered a couple boxes of 7's and a couple of 28 guage boxes for my boy.

Anybody who has shot them been blown away???

I run them through my M2 20. I switched up from Kent Impact Tungsten Matrix. IMO, its the closest to lead you will shoot. I shoot #5 in the timber and it thumps them.

I've shot them a good bit. If you've been shooting fast shells previously then it will take a little while to get used to the BOSS shells since they're slower. They're pricey but it's good doing business with Red Blooded Americans that take pride in their product and brand.

I didn’t last year but this year I’ll be shooting #5’s out of a M2 20. A buddy gave me some to pattern and I was blown away. It didn’t hurt that I watched him hammer birds last year with his 20 and Boss 5’s. I still plan on shooting Rio’s out of my 12 if I ever decide to carry it again bc they’ve worked well for me in 12ga and they’re cheap lol

My son and I only shoot Boss shells now for waterfowl. 3’s for geese out to 40+ yards and 3/5’s or 5’s for ducks. And if you ever have any questions, call them. There’s a very good chance that the owner, Brandon, will answer your call.

Hunted with a guide in North Texas who swore by them. He was rocking some lessers out to about 45 yards with a 20 ga. I just don’t shoot well enough to justify the price

Au, shooting boss shells and larger steel pellets(such as Boss 5 vs steel 3), is there any real difference in killing power. The ballistic charts show them equal. I am talking about dead hitting water or cripples instead.

The 2 3/4 #5’s are deadly.

Killed geese with them last year

The big difference, I think, comes from the shot pattern. You get more pellets and a more uniform shot string with Boss 5’s vs steel 3’s. One of the big issues with steel is that they have such high velocities to offset low density of the shot that it makes for some really crappy shot strings. Just looking at the pattern on a piece of paper doesn’t tell that story. You have to think in 3D instead of 2D.

I went with 3" in the 20's. If I bought any of my 12's I would've went 2-3/4

I grew up a 16ga hunter. Switched to a 12 when steel became law. My Sweet 16 is still my favorite. I am considering ordering some Boss 5s for it. I guess the $135 for 100 shells is worth a try. If it can cut down on cripple losses, I am all in. My cheap side has gotten used to $9 a box steel.

I think they're preparing to ship out their first batch of 16 guage

All the more reason to go with higher quality shell like Boss. What matters most is not how accurate you are but how capable you are of knowing what shots to take. When you pay a premium for your shells, you will most likely be smarter about the shots you take. Not to mention shitty steel gets you more cripples and those cripples take more shitty shells to kill. I wasn't into Boss or any of the higher quality shells for a while until recently and I'm glad I did.
