The slow down has finally caught up with me as I was let go yesterday. I'm hoping to stay in south Louisiana, but nothing is out of the question. I have a few leads, but not sure if any of them will pan out. If anyone knows of anything I'd really appreciate it.

Petroleum. I've got 9 years experience primarily on the reservoir side, but I also dabbled on the drilling side when I first got out of school. Not too keen on moving to Houston, but I'm not sure that there's many options left as far as oil and gas goes in Louisiana.

Thanks man. It's not the first time that I've had to look for new work. Only difference now is that I'm married with a toddler at home so there's a bit more stress involved. Losing my job the first time was a blessing in disguise. Hopefully I'll be as fortunate this time around.

Not sure what your thoughts are on Dallas, but i am a reservoir engineer for Pioneer and we just had a guy quit last week. They are looking externally for his replacement. Here's the link on our job board:

Good luck bud, ive pretty much come to the realization that if I want to stay in LA I am probably going to have to switch industries. Even then still may move because of how much better the money is outside of LA.

Thanks for this. If I were to move, I'd seriously consider Dallas over Houston. This looks like it's in my wheelhouse.
