Pay attention to the weather before heading out, should be thunderstorms all week.
I know you are new to this, thunderstorms and a boat full of kids do not mix well, the chop piles up pretty quick.
You won't sink but they will beat the hell out of you in the boat you previously mentioned.

Thanks cave. We were just going to goof off around the rigs around the bay.
I'm not new to boating, just new to the salt by myself. The youngest is 16 so they know the drill.
Boat isn't running right so we may be stuck aggravating the whiting and pompano.

Sling clays off of the beach over the surf and blast away! This activity goes well with beer and whiskey and fireworks as well.

When I moved to the coast I quickly learned that open water chop is a biotch, I would much rather face 5 ft'ers offshore than 3 ft of confused chop in the sound or the bay, it just beats you to hell and back.
Hope you get your boat running and have a blast, if I was back in the states I would give you a shout.

Dude...just reading this makes me question your sanity.....not running right? And you are gonna go anywhere in it? Why? There is a problem, just cause it's not bad enough yet, it could be in the next start.
