Twenty years ago there was a large male Rottweiler down here who had free reign. He mated with coyotes quite a bit.
Every now and again we spot coyote with the spots in their stamdard coloration.
Five years ago we purchased a livestock guardian dog to stay with our bulldogs when we were in town later at night. He gets a few yotes a year when they are dumb enough to get into his yard at night. He's killed a few larger males which are bigger than standard coyotes.
I have to wonder if he has bred with any females. He's 160lbs these days
