Baton Rouge and all of Southeastern Louisiana is about to be under water again in the next two days and there isn't one post about it.

I sure hope someone is paying attention down there. Expecting the rivers to crest and major flooding all in Southeastern Louisiana.

Stay safe the next two days as this is becoming a regular thing every year now.

Rarely does anyone.

I don't want it to devolve into a political spigot--this thread.

I just think people need to be paying attention. The front is stationary AGAIN and all the moisture and cold air is fixated down there starting tonight into tomorrow and Tuesday. No one ever takes the weather seriously, and I will never understand why.

Whatever you need to do to stay safe do it.

Whatever the weather 'forecasters' say be prepared for worse and pray for better. I knew some folks who were directly affected last summer. It was horrible.

Ya'll are in for a rough two days here. I pray you and yours are safe.

The flooding is caused by human intervention in the landscape, i.e. levees. Given a long enough amount of time, we will see climate change or at least record the data of it happening.

Looks like all the yats and yankees that have invaded the north shore will get flooded again. As well as another renewed round BS of calling for them to dredge the rivers.

Over building and shitty planning reaps what it sows.

Most of us are too busy building an Ark and rounding up animals to talk about it.

That's a dumb stance. We ALL take it seriously down here. But we stay and choose not to run away from those who may need help.
Because you don't see it on an outdoor board in a chat room, doesn't mean shite. People actually come here sometimes to get away from worrisome issues in their lives

I took on 3ft last year, this isn't even going to get close to my neighborhood. Not even close to the same amount of rain.

Yep. Down in da Parish, we lived there for years with no problem. After everything started getting developed around us (and draining in our direction), we had 4 floods in 5 years. Then changes were made, and no floods for 15 years. Man has more influence than Mother Nature in most floods.

What's bad is the overbuilding and developing fricking the people who have been there for generations.

Piss off. We had to sand bag my great grand paws house last year, which has been there forever without ever so much as the tiniest threat of a flood. Six new subdivisions within two miles of his house have fricked everything up. He knew where to put his house. These people bringing in a million yards of dirt to build shitty subdivision houses in the swamp don't know where to put theirs.
