Alumacraft Boat Problems - paint, fuel tank, foam flotation
I bought a 2020 Alumacraft Pro175 bass boat this year and want to know if anyone else has this boat, or another alumacraft boat with same problems.

(1) the paint is rubbing off the bottom of the hull onto the trailer bunk pads. The hull has large smudge marks where the paint has rubbed off.

(2) I noticed about a month after I had the boat there is a small section of the inner hull where the foam flotation is exposed. When standing outside the boat at the back, it is on the left side and can be seen by lifting the back lid covering the battery and fuel tank compartment and looking down to the left corner. The inner hull floor has a rectangular opening about 3 inches wide by 6 inches long. There is no metal over the foam flotation, which leaves it exposed to any water that gets inside the boat, which happened twice already. That can cause the foam to become water logged and add more weight to the boat and eventual corrosion.

(3) The fuel tank is 20 gallons, but I can never fill it up to capacity. I've tried all different angles of the boat next to the pump to make sure the opening to the tank did not have the fuel to one side and still could only put about 1-2 gallons in after using it. Even after burning a 1/4 tank or more of fuel, I couldn't fill it to capacity. I looked at the level of the fuel line and it still is about 2 inches from the top. I spoke with the dealer, they have no clue why. I spoke with the mfg and they think the trailer pads are causing the problem. The trailer mfg said the boat mfg did not do the paint right because they never had a problem before like that.
Boat mfg also has no idea why the tank can't be filled up and confirmed it is a 20 gallon tank.

Note: I make sure to load the boat on the trailer properly and have launched and loaded boats on trailers before and never saw this happen.

re: Alumacraft Boat Problems - paint, fuel tank, foam flotation
I have a family member that bought one of their 20 for center console Coastal variants about a year ago. He had to send the thing back to be completely repainted within a couple months of buying it.

Also. Post some pics of the exposed foam.

I had a family member go through this TWICE on a brand-new Alumacraft. They made him tow it back and forth to Arkansas and did not reimburse him for time and gas. After the second time he put it up for sale. Good luck.

Alumacraft is total garbage, clean it up, repaint it and sell it fast.

best bang for your money is to reuse the trailer and motor on another hull

buy yourself an alweld if you want a solid boat with no issues and high quality top to bottom

I thought I had issues.
2018 Tracker Grizzly bought new that the paint is peeling off and bubbling in other spots.
Dealer will fix I just have to derig a boat.
