I guess they have to. Are the transplant even available yet?

I am looking for some plants native to South Louisiana to place along my back fence. Preferably the size of your traditional crape myrtle. Any suggestions?

If you're in South Louisiana you can start them in plastic cups outside because it's so warm right now. But, a warming mat works well.
I moved all of my trays outside a week ago. They are doing well. Probably gonna put some of them in the ground in a couple weeks.

Bonnie's has started to fill their racks with spring plants.
It is to their advantage to get them out early and hope for a freeze though
I planted a small plot of sweet corn from some old seed to see if I can get some early ears.

Any advice on taking a preemptive strike against blight?

onvertedtiger, do you use a potato box or do you just plant in the soil in rows?
Last year, I planted my potatoes in a 5x12 raised bed with excellent drainage as well as a couple of 4x2 boxes that were off the ground on legs and about 12" deep. I did not notice any better yield out of the raised bed vs the boxes. So, we pulled out the bed this fall and built 2x4 boxes off the ground. All but 2 potatoes have sprouted and have about 4" of foliage so far. We will be planting some tomatoes in 5 gallon containers very soon.

I've heard of some of these citrus trees miraculously coming back. Are they for sure dead?
Well, I am not 100% sure. All the fruit fell of the same day... 2 days later all leaves were completely brown... couple days later leaves fell off. A friend that works at Burden looked at them and believes they died. We hope not

Daconil and Mancozeb on a once a week schedule.

I just getting back into gardening. I'm going to start a couple potato boxes this week. Also going to make two above ground beds for tomatoes, peppers, carrots, etc. I got an idea to grow lettuce and herbs on pallets laid upright against a fence I'm going to try. Starting my seeds today. A lot of damn work, but fun.

I sell at markets and a couple grocery stores. I usually have most of my tomatoes in by mid february depending on how wet it is. This year has been extremely wet but I already have about 130 tomatoes in the ground and will probably plant another 100 or so but I am waiting a bit so I can stagger the ripening. I planted squash today and if weather stays this warm I will plant cucumbers next week. I usually start my seeds around 1st of January.

Pulled back the vis-queen on my garden. Dirt looks beautiful. I covered it back up cause I’m not ready to plant. I just wanted to get a look at it since it’s been covered for forever.
Also, seedlings are getting a tan.
ETA: Left to right I have Better Boys (started off slow for some reason, but they’re coming up), Heinz Super Roma, Poinsett 76 cucumber, and Straight 8 cucumbers.

I started a couple of Heinz also. I'm trying different Romas this year for canning.

For my fall garden I planted Cauliflower and Cabbage. I put it in the same spot that my tomatoes were in. They did great. I'll expand that this fall.
