How will this impact the spawn? How are the numbers of fish being caught relative to previous years? Any guess on how this will affect early Nov fishing? Going to be in Delacroix. Tia.

We (several of my fishing buddies and myself) fish out of hopedale/shell beach. Due to the spillway this has been the worst year i can remember. We’ve caught a bunch of trout on a few trips but overall due to the water conditions we haven’t consistently caught much like previous years.

The majority of folks i have talked with have had similar results. That being said i don’t think trout numbers are down i just believe people haven’t been able to find the fish like usual. So, assuming the river goes down i think this fall will be incredible fishing.

I fish Cocodrie so the river does not affect me as much as areas to the east but I’ve never caught as many under-sized trout as I have this year.

The best year I’ve ever had trout fishing nov/dec was also one of the worst duck seasons. No grass from a huge tidal surge in sept and constant SE winds
