Y’all still have acorns dropping?

It looks like where I’m at the last bit have started to fall.

Feel like I'm walking on gravel in the woods. Great crop this year.

All the baws hunting big food plots better pray for a couple freezes. Acorns may not sour for quite sometime unless we get a couple good freezes before the end of the season. Walking in this afternoon they were everywhere on the ground. I know the deer where I’m at will eat them pretty quick.

On another note, I’m seeing scrapes that are being worked almost daily. The bucks I saw earlier in bow season are now out working scrapes. We historically take our biggest bucks from now through the next 15-20 days.

I hope everyone enjoys there time in the woods over next few weeks.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone on the OB. Hope God blesses you yours.

We learned a long time ago that the more acorns you see , the less deer you see.
Remedy for that in my opinion is hunt food plots less and stay in woods more .

My dad is one of them he has only hunted a couple times this season. Asks me every time I come out if the acorns are still dropping.

And they’re still dropping a lot

And I’m not saying you won’t kill a nice buck or see a bunch of deer in a food plot but you’re chances are better hunting hardwoods if the acorns are still dropping or have not soured. Deer will eat acorns over any kind of feed you can put out.

This oak flat I’m sitting in is full of deer this morning. Waiting for that big one to slip up
