Accessories for Chevy Silverado

Finally broke down and got a new truck. I have been driving my 2003 Tahoe for 17 years. It was time.
Looking to add some nerf bars to the side. Truck is tall and the wife is having to climb in. My Tahoe had the side bars on it from the factory.
Id also like to add a bed cover. Thinking about the type that works like a garage door. Not a roll up and not a fold up. Looking for good manufacturers. I have seen a few but its been a while since I outfitted a pick up.
Found a good price on 5" Ionic nerf bars. Have no idea about this company.
Thinking about the gatortrax style for the cover. I wont use it a lot but we travel a lot and we are 3 so I need to store out luggage/etc in the back and keep it dry and secure. I dont want a folding type, think this roll up style would be better. Anyone companies better than others?
Thanks for any advice you can give.....

Hard to go wrong with the 6” OEM wheel well to wheel well steps. Made of stainless steel, more attachment points than aftermarket. Also, more $$$, but if bought with vehicle, include 3yr/36kmi warranty.
As for the bed cover, I personally like the Roll ‘n Lock...

I bought a new GMC 2500 back in 2016. I’ve added a few things to mine.
I went with a Retrax roll up bed cover. After watching many videos of different brands, I’m convinced they’re all manufactured by the same company. It seems like the components are all the same.
Over the years, I’ve also added Husky floorliners(extremely happy with these), underseat storage from Husky, window and hood deflectors, Amp Research bed extender, a shortened antenna ( I think it’s called Stubby) so the antenna wouldn’t hit the garage door, and I recently added a Lockrdown console safe.
Edit: for some reason I forgot my floor mats were Husky, not Weathertech. Love the Husky’s, they are thick, heavy rubber that stay put.

I’m in the same situation, my brother in-law has a Retrax retractable cover and it leaks in the tailgate corners. I didn’t want a solid cover because it’s a pain in the arse when you want to haul something with height; however, I think if water intrusion is a big concern a cover that mounts on top instead of being flush would be better at preventing water entering the bed area. So at this point, I am looking at a Diamondback cover as it looks a little more flexible than a solid cover, but I’m not sure I’m going to like the middle cross beam if I need full bed access.

Look at you baw. Glad the wife finally let you spend some money.

I think retrax owns gatortrax and they have more plastic in them than they should, Rollnlock is the better option imo, I sell 20 to 1 on those covers. No bed cover is advertised to be water proof, they all can leak a little. Not familiar with ionic steps, I do sell iconic which is made by Westin and they are good quality. Most all step bars are made over seas in the same building, I actually could order a container load that had “LanierSpots” on the step pads if I wanted to Aftermarket steps have limited lifetime Warranty, powder coated steps can get rock chips and rust, but the stainless steel ones generally will not. The aftermarket manufacturers make the oem products, GM does not make step bars, in fact Dee Zee has the GM contract now I believe. Truck Hero bought most of the good bed cover manufacturers; Rollnlok, retrax, extang, bak, undercover, rugged, truxedo , however They do not own diamondback(great cover btw) yet at least. Stay away from pace edwards covers, the quality is not there imo. Sorry bout the wall of text, just trying to help an OB brother out.

First new vehicle I have had since 1996. It was time. Actually was looking for a used one for a while and eventually called a fried who runs a dealership. He made me a great deal and I just pulled the plug.
Didnt want to spend the money but just did it anyway. Now that I have had it for a few weeks, I love this thing and I am glad I did it. Hell man, I never even had a vehicle with Bluetooth. Lots of new shite on here vs my old Tahoe.

Thanks for the advice. I will look into those. I actually sent me baw at the dealership a email last night to see if they had Chevy side bars. Not sure if they do or if they can warranty them. Id like black since everything on the thing is black...
I probably wont use the lid often but it would be nice to have it dry when I do. I will look around at some of those options. Thanks again

Don't do this!!!!!!!! Get a BakFlip….seriously I know about the roll-up kind and you WILL NOT be happy.

I got back and forth on nerf bars. Once I get a lil lift I may put them but I like the look without.
I’m interested in bed covers though. I want a trifold I think that can support ppl sitting on it.

I really like the Bak Revolver X4. Did not want folding. This one rolls up and you can still see out of the rearview. Sits very flush and looks clean.

I have nerf bars on my truck and I’d probably remove them if not for the kids. I like the look without.
