it's completely dependent on the person shooting.
i shoot fine and i've shot with people who are FAST and extremely accurate.

no handgun is gonna knock you off your feet. can you show me one that does?

hell a .308 at point blank range wont knock you down.

but it will put one bad arse hole in you.

Yea, but you can say that about any gun. I think a Red Ryder is more accurate than I am

Fact

Speaking of accuracy, how far out would this Kel Tec sub 2000 be fairly accurate in a 9mm?

Well I can guarantee you a .40 won't do that do unless your planning on carrying around a blunderbuss that isn't a very realistic scenario.

Its safe to say youve never been shot or seen anyone shot. It doesnt take much to put most people down, not near as much as most people think.

I'd like for all the 9mm haters to stand up and take one in the chest if you believe it doesn't have the killing power?

Is it better to more holes in him, or to put a hole in him that knocks him back and off his feet?
Yea but will a .40 really knock someone off their feet that much more than a 9mm?

I feel like this argument is akin to arguing deer hunting calibers, and people bring all kind of small details and differences in to argue one caliber over the other, long distances, etc., when in reality they're just gonna use it to shoot at deer 100 yds and in and either one will do the same shite.

Yea. You can watch hickok45 wear out steel plates at 85 yards all day with glocks, which you'll hear people call inaccurate if you talk about them for more than a few minutes. Give that same person a custom built 1911 and I bet they miss just as many times with it as they do with a glock.

Bottom line is very few people can exceed the capabilities of the gun they have, much like you'll often hear people say "I need a rifle that I can kill a deer at 300+ yards with." I highly doubt that 95% of those people are capable of making a good shot at 300 yards with a custom built .308 range queen, much less a mule kicking .300 ultra mag.

I believe that when it comes to self defense pistols, you need to carry the most powerful round that you can effectively control and fire. For most people that's the 9mm, strictly because the low ammo cost will encourage them to shoot alot and become proficient with the gun they have.

i dont think it was a question of what it takes to put them down, however it was a question of knocking them down with a bullet. i agree that getting shot means an immediate systems check.
