Assuming a single shot sure, but why that over the .35 Whelen which is a much better .35 cal

Yes. If you are recoil sensitive, it is the best option.

From what I read, the 350 Legend exists only to satisfy certain state regulations that require a straight wall cartridge.

If you don't live in one of those states, they're much better alternatives.

Won’t argue that at all. I have two friends and myself that have AR’s in that caliber and we all like them. Rounds aren’t expensive, easy to find, low recoil.. Will probably be my son’s starter deer gun. We’ve already dropped quite a few hogs with them.
