Any of you baws have one? I've been eyeing a few down because it seems like finding a decent 5.0 is like a unicorn

It is a compact car engine stuck in a full size truck.

My wife has 2.5 L 4 cylinder so that should avert you from getting it in a truck.

I have the 5.3L V8 which is just right.

We have one at work. Ive pulled a trailer with roll pipe and I didnt even notice the trailer. We get just under 21 mpg.

I have one in a company truck, 2wd CC, I have no issues with it for what its used for. I've had it about 8 months, get 18 mpg around town and if I put the cruise on 75 running down the interstate it gets 21.5, 80 to 85 and it's around 20. Fyi, we have a lot of work in WTx and I10 is 80 mph out there. I don't pull much with it at all other than my boat sometimes, gas mileage suffers quite a bit when pulling for sure, if I put it in "sport" mode it will shite and get like it's a whole other engine, very similar to the 5.0 I just got rid of. If your not looking to pull a lot with it I'd recommend at least driving one.

Was looking at this one because of the interior and no chrome on the truck. I've got an 18 foot aluminum boat and a 22 foot sea hunt

I know what you mean. I just bought a ‘17 with the 5.0 last month. I was very lucky. The only one’s I could find in stock were either red or that white gold color

Luckily I found one that was 2 tone Silver/MET. But the pickings were definitely slim.

White or dark grey and a center console instead of that ugly flip seat. That's all I want. I can find a bunch of good looking ones with color matched bumpers but all with the regular v6

Love mine. I don't tow anything much, other than an aluminum duck boat. I am running 34x11.50 all terrains, and i can bark them at 55mph. I drive like a grandpa though, so I don't use the speed it has.

I doubted the low end torque, but my brother pulled the box truck out my parent's ditch with his when my dad's 65 horse John Deere wouldn't.

Compact car engines have CGI blocks and 375 lb-ft of twist?

It amazes me that people hear ecoboost and immediately compare it to a car engine not looking that it has a supercharger and produces a shite ton of tourque, and out performs most V8’s

Oh really? Tell me more about this supercharger. Why do they call them a twin turbo if they have superchargers?

I know the ecoboost has a big torque advantage. I’m really happy with the 5.0. I only ever really pull my boat. If I were pulling more than that, like a camper or something similar, I probably would have gone with the 3.5 ecoboost. I can barely even tell the boat is behind me with the 5.0 though.

I have a feeling the 5.0 will be eventually phased out unfortunately.

Ok you got me, was responding quick while trying to get kids to bed and had a brain fart.

You are correct

For the record I have a 5.0, loved the power of the eco boost but I planned to keep truck till wheels fall off so opted for the simpler natrurally aspirated 5.0. No complaints except my gas mileage sucks once I put level kit a little bigger tire.
