WOW!! $2-$4/round..... Sounds like a good time to start reloading (keep all your brass and you're in good shape to get started).

Any xx wby mag is ridiculously expensive.
Why does weatherbu seem to be the only manufacturer of weatherbu calibers?

They don't release their info the loads in their bullets.
Very hard to get the same loads they do

None of the manufacturers make known the exact composition of their factory loads. In fact, some of the factory loads use powders that are not available to the handloader. Nevertheless, theres' lots of loading data available for the Weatherby line of cartridges. To start w/, from Hodgdon's online data, here's 29 loads using bullets weighing 75 gr to 120 gr. I'd be glad to share load data from my manuals, as well. I've got a friend who loves to hunt and shoot the 257 Weatherby Magnum. Like most handloading projects, it took a little while to develop his loads, but now he's got accurate, useful loads costing much less than $2-/round.

I wish I had room for another hobby.
.257 wby is a fantastic bean field caliber.

I had a vanguard in 257. I sold it easily and went to a 270. Rem. 257wtb is loud and the rifle was heavy, plus Ammo was really expensive to shoot a lot. Good riddens !

I shot hornady 90gr gmx's when I had my 257. They were closer to $2 a round and they shot great. I would look at those instead of the weatherby brand that's about $4 a round.

I shoot one but I have a buddy reloading it for me now. I agree that $4 per round sucks but I love the caliber - hunted with it exclusively this year.

Try rareammo.com. I bought the 100gr norma spitzers for around 40 per box last year, bought 4 boxes. Was shooting the 120 gr nosler partitions, they were close to 80.00 per box.
