The 2019 Lawn Thread made me want a calendar to know when to apply things to our yards so that we only have grass and no weeds in them.

This is what I have so far that are safe for centipede and st. aug.:

February: Spray Winter Weed Cocktail
(1oz Feri Lome Weed Free Zone + 8.6oz Hi Yield Atrazine + 2tsp Hi Yield spreader sticker)

March: Scotts Halts

April: Scotts Turf Builder UltraFeed

August: Scotts Turf Builder UltraFeed

October: Scotts Halts

November:- Spray Simazine

Feel free to make suggested changes. I have no pride of ownership.

Would this apply to Bermuda as well?

If you are going to use Scotts products, they have an app where you put in your location and lawn type and they create you a plan including timing and products.

For Bermuda, the key is mowing often and low. Put down some nitrogen once a month or so. Put down pre-emergent every 3-4 months. If you do these simple steps, you can have a nice Bermuda lawn.

I did the weed free zone, atrizine, and sticker spreader. Knocked back a large portions of the weeds.

Never seen anything this effective on Dollar Weeds. All of that is gone even in the low wet areas.

Have a few more dollar weeds coming up in some areas that I will treat and then will hit it with some weed and feed in about a month should be looking good soon.

What’s the per gallon ratio this cocktail should be mixed with?

Atrazine works great on dollar weed. That mix is very effective.

I believe he is saying to put the amount of each chemical listed per gallon of water.

January - Spot spray any pest weeds, but your grass will be dormant.

February - Same as before. Maybe a light application of pre-emergent.

March - after the freezes are over, and after there is some green growth, scalp your grass on your initial cut or two of the year. (Bag grass clippings if you are super picky). De-thatch once you scalp. Put down a granular 20-5-10 fertilizer in mid-late march.

April - Put down a light spray 30-0-0 fertilizer. Put more pre-emergent down if didn't get to it. Continue normal cuttings keeping grass .75" to 1.5".

May - Light 30-0-5 fertilizer every 3 weeks. Continue normal cuttings keeping grass .75" to 1.5".

June - Time to watch for grubs/pests. Put out granular insecticides inbetween rain showers. Also keep a fungicide on hand to keep up with humid, wet conditions. Continue normal cuttings keeping grass .75" to 1.5".

July - normal cuttings keeping grass .75" to 1.5". Irrigate if necessary.

August - normal cuttings keeping grass .75" to 1.5". Irrigate if necessary.

September - Last chance to push growth before cold temps. Put a 10-10-10 fertilizer down. Put down pre-emergent down for fall. Watch out for army worms. Spray insecticide if needed. Continue cuttings letting grass grow up to 1.25" to 2".

October - pre-emergent if you didn't in September. Continue cutting if grass is still growing.

November - pre-emergent if you didn't in October/September. Spot pray for weeds if lawn is dormant.

December - Spot spray any pest weeds
