2019 GMC Sierra reviews

Any of you with a 2019 GMC Sierra? What are your opinions on it? How does the 6.2 tow?

I have a 2019 SLT with the 5.3. The 6.2 is a monster but needs premium gas. The 5.3 tows a 22’ bay boat under 2k rpms at 75mph. I love it so far

I’m sure the 6.2 is legit but my opinion is the interior took a step back. Sat in a new 2500 Denali and it still isn’t good as the super duty. They finally got the rear seat A/C diffusers though which is a plus. Can’t comment any further than that.

GM fan here, but I’ll be looking at other options. I abhor the new body styles.

If you are pulling that boat in overdrive with the converter locked up your trans will not last long.

hearing it will be redone for 2021 model

The 3/4 tons just got redone...are they redoing again, or just the 1/2 ton? The whole dash of the 3/4 ton looks like an older Tundra. It’s pretty disappointing. I haven’t been in a new Ram but have heard good things. I love my King Ranch ford though...it’s my preference by far. Some people just don’t like the larger overall size.

The fact they are redoing it that quickly tells you how bad a miss they made. It' sort of unreal it was that poorly received.
And OP, don't open the top tailgate with a trailer hitch attached, you will regret it. Another bad miss.

I have a 2019 Denali with the 6.2. It tows great and is even better just getting around town. Overall, it's a better truck than what anyone else is offering.

They need to stop using the cheapest materials available. GM products are the Sam's Choice of vehicles.

I have a ‘19 SLT 4wd with the 5.3. Overall, I’m fairly happy with it. I don’t tow too often, so can’t comment too much on it.
However, it is my daily driver. The ride is pretty comfortable and the creature comforts are there. There’s a lot of complaints about the interior, but I don’t find it THAT bad. It’s just pretty much exactly like the pre-2019s.
I average between 20-22 mpg. The tailgate is useful when you remember to use it. I don’t leave my hitch in, so hitting the hitch is not a concern.
I also hated the looks at first. I was looking all over the SE for an ‘18. They grew on me overtime. The AT4 is a very sharp looking truck as it comes with a few small differences (lift, color matched bumpers, etc).
Some of the biggest complaints (besides interior) has been the 8 spd trans in the 5.3. It’s been replaced with the 10spd in the ‘20. Also note, if you don’t get the X31 package (which some say have a rougher ride) you only get a single speed transfer case.

I just bought a 19 Silverado a few months ago after driving a 18 Sierra for about a year and a half. Really like the new body style and my Silverado has the heads up display and 6.2 with 10 speed which is very powerful and smooth. Aside from the heads up display and new wireless charging location, I liked the dash better on my 18 and wish the new body style had a bigger in dash display. Overall, I looked at Ford, Ram, GMC, and Chevy and the Silverado offered the most bang for my buck. I bought a fully loaded truck with an MSRP of $61K for $43.5 out the door and I am very happy so far.

I drove a GMC and a Ford each for 3 days...ended up buying a RAM. No regrets at all. The ride and fit/finish of the GMC was way behind the Ford and RAM.

Ram has the best ride by far. The independent rear suspension can't be beat
