2008 27 prodrive (Kohler) throttle issues

How do I adjust the throttle on this engine? Also is this bolt supposed to be loose? The nut seems tight. I cannot tighten or lossen it by hand. Including pictures.
The issue is if I move the throttle to a certain position, I can fully choke the engine to start it. Starts right up. If I don’t gas it full throttle, the carb is not choked enough. Best way I can describe it.

Take your carb off and clean it. Probably gummed up

Brand new. Replaced myself. The choke knob attached to the Linkage cannot be pulled out far enough (to close the choke when starting). If I open the throttle the choke knob can be pulled all the way closed and it starts. I know it’s fine that it starts but is definitely not right.

Not a Kohler expert. However, the nut you are pointing to in the video looks like it needs to be tightened. Also, on the other end of the linkage, your locknut is not tightened up.
You adjust the length of that linkage and the stroke of the throttle. I can’t see where the choke is from your pic

each end turns to adjust the spacing and the lock nuts are tightened to hold that adjustment. its a one time thing when installing the link, it should never need tobe messed with after its initial setup
as for choke not working, you didnt install the carb right, maybe the link is hooked up to the wrong hole but when throttle is full on the choke is supposed to be full closed for starting if its an automatic choke design
youtube has videos showing the kohler carb and choke setup, go watch a few videos to see what you did wrong when installing the carb

I’m gonna make sure the linkage is correct this evening. But I want to confirm that bolt In the video should be tight? It’s odd bc the nut is not loose at all. For as much play there is I would think that nut would be loose.

Those nuts are there just to lock in the linkage once that is adjusted right. They should be all the way against.

I’m sorry. I mean the nut and bolt that’s loose in the video.

Video of choke
Fixed the loose bolt for the throttle. Now the other problem. The choke won’t close without the throttle wide open. I took a off the air filter so you can see. With the throttle open the choke will close.

if im seeing what i think im seeing then thats the choke and it should not be loose like that there should be a lever on the other end of that cable where you pull on it to activate it on and off. moving so easily like that it may very well have snapped off inside the cable
its ok if it is lose from the throttle arm, its supposed to be able to move freely but only when you push or pull on the choke lever
i think it might have something on the throttle linkage to push it open in case you forget to turn it off but im not 100% on that part

Another video
Cable isn’t broken. The earlier video showed you the carb after air filter and plate removed. I was moving the throttle and choke with my hand. Here is a video of the actual problem at the choke knob.
