Looking for a 10MM that’s not a Glock. Any recommendations?

Have a couple of 1911s and a P320C in 9mm. I like them all. Handled a Kimber Camp Guard and a RIA 1911. I need to fondle the Sig

I have a Colt Delta Elite

I will have a Sig p320 x ten
Would LOVE to own a p220 SAO in 10mm

Rock Island has a 1911 in 10mm

There is an older S&W in 10mm that’s suppose to be a beast but I don’t know much about it.

Hard to beat a Glock 20 but if you can afford it I’m pretty sure Wilson Combat makes a 1911 style 10mm…the problem with the 10mm is the rounds are dumbed down that you buy at the store. To get the most out of your 10 mm load your own ammo to specs of 1980-1990s before they changed them.
Edit: spelling damn autocorrect

I looked at a Tanfoglio in 10mm a few years back. CZ style. Almost bought it. Wish I would have.

If you're looking for a polymer, The Springfield XDM in 10mm is a fine shooter. S&W have recently released an M&P full size in 10mm as well. I have heard good things about the Sig but have no experience with it.

EAA Tangfolio makes several models in 10mm but I know nothing about them.

As someone else mentioned, the Colt Delta Elite is a tried and true 1911 10mm. I have an original generation from the late 80s. The current generating comes with all the bells and whistles. Rock Island makes an Ultra FS model in 10 mm and at its price point it's hard to beat and is an excellent gun. I have the Ultra FS in 9mm & 10mm. Great guns for the price.

I load the 10mm. You can max them out to current specs, but you better not duplicate the old Norma round. Today's firearms were not made to handle the old Norma round. Only the Bren Ten can. And i bet Ruger's revolver will.

The new SW MP 10MM is nice. Got to finger Bang one in my local GS a few weeks ago. I think it was listed for 649.00.

I don't own a 10mm, don't know how valid this is... but I saw on some fairly reputable site that the 10 will beat up a 1911 platform pretty hard. Someone mentioned Delta Elites with messed up frames.

You have one, don't seem to indicate yours is busted, so I guess that might be an internet myth.

Site was saying guns such as the S&W 3rd Gen (1006, etc) handled the full loads better.

I initially assumed that the Tangfolio would be a more solid option, but I looked it up last night... they were saying you can convert calibers (including to 9mm) just by swapping slide assembly and magazine. That might be good, or you might be mounting a cannon on a frame meant for 9mm; I know you can put a 9mm on a 40 frame, but not vice-versa. I'm more of a CZ buff and just passing interest on the Witness, I do see they call the guns 'large frame'.

There were some very, very early models of the Delta Elite that had issues with frame cracks but Colt caught the issue quickly and resolved the problem.

Also, it wasn't an issue just for Colt. Many 1911 makers had the issue with the frames cracking near the slide release hole. They found that if they cut out the hole and make it a notch instead of a hole that resolved the cracking issue.

I've done a ton of research on the various 10mm models lately, and I'm leaning super hard towards an XDM Elite Compact.

My Glock 20 is the only 10mm I’ve ever shot but I love it more than I ever thought I would. I’m sure any 10mm from any of the major brands are fine.

Always wanted a colt delta elite, but didn't want to get into another caliber.
Now I have no guns or ammo.

I don’t have the experience to know but I’ve read that the typical less-expensive 180gr ammo off the shelf is really not much different from .40. And that’s what I buy for my new 10mm I tend to agree. It doesn’t feel as heavy as my .357.
