Tensas Parish
41 degrees, 10mph W wind
Box between bean field and oak flat
7 mag

Thank God for this cooler weather. Wind is picking up but it should be a decent day. Tomorrow will be money when that wind lays down.

Good Luck!

Watched a very good deer not long after my first post. Was hoping he’d stick around til daylight but he went and bedded down.

Hopefully there are still some wet does that’ll draw him or the other 2 big mature deer at this stand. Had a monster mainframe 10pt bust me last week. Wasn’t paying attention and when I turned my head to the left he saw me.

When is y’alls rut in Washington Parish?

47* W wind at 10
Ground blind on edge of a finger of woods separating a cut over and a new cutover. Looking down a trail of new rubs.

I've killed bucks chasing in the first week in January to the last. I haven't seen much sign yet other than rubs and scrape activity picking up.

Van- where are you? I'm north by the state line center of the parish.

Haven't stepped in the woods this season, but maybe I will tomorrow. Got a itch to go. Will see.

missed a good buck here at 400 yards at first light yesterday. Should’ve waited for a little better light

41 degrees, gusting wind
Hand Climber overlooking big pine bottom next to thick cover
Hoyt Bow, it's the only way I know.

Lots of scraping and rubbing activity. Certainly not the rut but we see the most daytime action here in January, midday.

Thought they’d be moving but only one lonely doe past.
Ladder in woods looking at a little strip plot. With deer trails on right and left
