They report says feeding 10 guests, on average, will cost nearly $70 this year, an increase of about $10 from 2021.

So much for that $0.16 we saved last year…

I'll probably spend more than that just on booze.

Are the ten guests toddlers?

I would do a cookout every damn day if that math was anywhere near accurate.

To be fair, that’s only $9.84 increase from 2020.

July 4th parties tend to have a lot of Meat. Pretty sure a good July 4th party is going to be $200+ minimum at this point.

$70 might get you enough hot dogs and buns for 10 people.

I’m on pace to save that much this year. Brisket in a can, water sugar popsicles, burning tires for fireworks. You just have to be creative.

Hmm. What happened starting in January 2021 to make the price go up?

The picture they posted last year bragging about the $0.16 savings only had 2 pork chops and a pound of ground beef.

10 people for $70? What are we having, grilled Beenie weenies with dollar store buns and no ketchup or mustard, with a side of cup'o'noodles for everyone?

Mmmmmmm....

Price varies depending on whether you use charcoal or propane to grill your Beenie weenies, and whether you use electricity to microwave the 10 cup'o'noodles

Damn, almost on the dot. Pity it wasn’t the 16%.

I think even sans alcohol it’s an absurd price for a good party. I feel like either when people host or it’s a potluck a lot of money is spent on tasty food.

Is that more or less than a .16 savings?

Ah yes, remember the skillet of ground beef you had at your barbecues growing up? The slice of American cheese you just ate whole? Man, such nostalgia.
