Reads like damage control.
What I think really happened was they had some sort of disagreement, then were going to restructure their relationship with the NRA and overplayed their hand.
In the current climate, 2nd amendment and NRA supporters reacted, and they didn’t crawfish fast enough, and their response is a bit milquetoast considering the strong endorsements of their competitors.
They fricked up, big time, and the response they’d need to correct it would only serve to piss off another side of their target audience.
It’s a shite sandwich all around

They really are, being involved with a different 501-C3 that has seen Yeti reduce support over the years since the brothers sold we've kind of seen the writing on the wall and have sought other manufactures to help out with fundraisers but to handle it the way NRA has is bush league and really makes me question a lot of the spin they put out on subjects I'm not as educated about.

Given the current events I can’t blame the NRA for being defensive when Yeti vanished with no explanation.

Hmmm. Seems to me they did pull their support for political reasons, gauged the backlash, said nothing, and now are in damage control mode. Otherwise, you wouldn't wait as long as they did to correct it.

Suddenly, without prior notice, YETI has declined to do business with The NRA Foundation saying they no longer wish to be an NRA vendor, and refused to say why. They will only say they will no longer sell products to The NRA Foundation.
That seems like more than just removing the discount. Idk, he said she said.

The NRA and Breitbart put Yeti on blast on Saturday. Yeti puts out a statement the very next business day.
They definitely underestimated how quickly the mob was forming. No argument there.

The NRA did what it always does, play the fear mongering game to try and make a buck
I will never be a member of the NRA because of that

They know we live in a torch-and-pitchfork world and they took advantage of that. Well played.

I said it elsewhere, if Yeti needed to make a business decision that is understandable but good grief do it later in the year when it wouldn’t be such a PR nightmare with so many customers. Their brand has been damaged by this more than whatever savings they might realize.

Either way, the NRA has 5M members, which is less than 1% of the population
For fricks sakes, man. Do you even live in the US? You seem Canadian. Are you Canadian?

You think viral shite waits until normal business hours?
You have to be legendarily stupid to think you can wait a whole weekend before stepping in front of this.
You issue an emergency statement that this was a miscommunication and that Yeti supports the second amendment and the NRA.
You don’t sit on your arse and release nothing as your competitors pump out pro-2nd amendment stuff.
Even if it isn’t true the optics of waiting 2 days and coming out with a vague statement are pretty bad.

In a week literally nobody will care. That's how internet mobs work.
Yeti has bigger problems like having actual competition now.

There are 327 million people
5 million is 1.5%
They fact when he was just throwing out a percentage and said 1%, and yall are going at him for that .5% is what makes this board great
Or to put it into proper context, inline with the logic of his presentation, he thought the US population was 500,000,000, which is an error of 173,000,000.
So yeah, he should be called out on that.

I’d reckon this one remembers a bit longer
Yeti is going to have to woo them back

I'll bet you could poll everyone who's ever bought or thought about buying a yeti and 95% of them will say they've never even heard of this incident.

My wife who has no interest in Yeti asked me about it.
