My gut reaction is to let this play out and determine 1) if this is true, and 2) why Yeti made this decision. When a company decides to not remain a sponsor of an organization, it does not automatically follow that they are suddenly against that organization. Sometimes it's simply a matter of business and using revenues as they see most appropriate. I have no idea in this case, but I won't be quick to judge or declare wrongdoing.

David Hogg probably threatened to lead a boycott against them.
ETA: If i am RTIC, I am doubling down against Yeti and coming out STRONGLY in favor of the NRA. I'm talking facebook ad's with an eagle holding an AR-15.

From YETI: “Truth is, we did not cut ties with the NRA or the Friends of the NRA. We changed the structure of our discount program to better align it with the business. I’m not happy that the NRA would choose to mischaracterize and sensationalize this. Know that we do support the Second Amendment, gun owners and their pursuits. Please stick to these talking points publically and feel free to point out your own experience with our brand and people. See below: As you know, YETI was built on a passion for the outdoors and, as we always have, YETI continues to actively support hunters, anglers, and the broader outdoor community. We believe in the Second Amendment and the Constitution of the United States. Recently, we made a number of business, pricing and dealer decisions to simplify and clarify our product distribution. Based upon these, we ended a wide range of legacy vendor programs, which affected a number of different organizations. The conclusion of these programs in no way impacts our ongoing support of our consumers’ passions, as YETI continues to work with many organizations that promote the conservation and management of wildlife and habitat restoration.”

Where’d they post that at? I didnt see it on their FB or Twitter pages. And why’d it take them 3-4 days to issue that statement. Makes it seem like they caught a level of backlash they weren’t expecting and are trying to do damage control

Ah the OT, where a taken out of context statement sensationalized by the nra about an overrated cooler turns into 10+ pages.

Yeah I’ve seen this ignorance all iver here and the PT as well as Facebook. Nobody took the time to do five minutes of research to see what the truth was in that Yetti did not cut ties with the NRA.
I feel bad for the idiots on my Facebook feed sharing the BS post.

They posted an image of the 2nd amendment on their FB a couple days ago.

They already have. Their most recent facebook post is a picture of the 2nd Amendment. Yeti is overpriced anyway.

Found out, it's an email from the company to dealers and other promotors of the brand. People with financial interest in keeping YETI going strong. They haven't said anything to the public that I know of.

Sounds like a lot of damage control.
Here’s what I bet happened.
Some Ivy League liberal east coast marketing hire thought it would be good to distance themselves from the NRA because Austin people live in a bubble.
So they made some snide little announcement. The truth of it inconsequential, it EXPLODED in their faces and this is the statement they came up with to try and do damage control.
Now the backlash is either going to force them to support the NRA and the 2nd amendment or continue the implosion.
Either way, it’s why you need to know your customer base and pander to THEM, not SJWs

If that email is true, if I was Yeti I would absolutely completely cut ties with the NRA or any other organization that felt the need to belittle my company.
Or I could be like Starbucks and kiss everybody's arse and give away free coffee to anyone's feelings that got hurt.

So you think that, after inadvertently blowing their toes off, they should double down and shoot themselves in the other foot?
Was it the NRA that staged the backlash, or just loyal NRA members?

You'd be fired immediately. This would bankrupt Yeti.
Yeti is going to do a very public mea culpa and explanation.
Also, it should be noted that the anti-gun retards are cheering Yeti for this - so Yeti is now in a position where they are really going to piss off one side or the other. They can choose to piss off the people that just scream at the sky or the people that actually have been buying their shite. Regardless, I think this spells the end of Yeti.

The NRA has way to much power in this country. I really don’t get it.
Posted on 4/23/18 at 10:49 am to fr33manator
It was the statement from the NRA's chief lobbyist that started, then people piled on.
I would not appreciate an organization that I had sponsored ($$$$) throwing my company under the bus, especially if it wasn't true.
It would almost be like extortion.
"You better keep giving us money or we are gonna cause you harm."
Sound familiar?
