They won't be liable if they're wrong just because they filed a police report.
They went for the dagger filing that report. Better hope they are right (I am sure they are. Someone didnt hack his freaking phone to make the tweet)

WWL supports gays. Scoot is one of their main voices.
Dunlap is a tard. I hope he packed a toothbrush.

and the reason the 2 releases yesterday came out literally within minutes of each other...
Dunlap's side knew WWL figured out the tweet came from his cell phone... and had to immediately figure out how to deflect that fact
when the meeting ended... WWL knew its only recourse was to go to the cops
quote:
That decision was apparently made after Cassidy, Dunlap and their legal teams met Tuesday. According to what the station told NOPD, as detailed in the police report, Dunlap’s legal team had previously sent a letter demanding $1.85 million over the tweet.
The report said management tried to ask Dunlap about whether he had been discriminated against because of his sexuality. But Dunlap’s legal team objected to the questioning, and the meeting was derailed when management revealed their digital forensic expert had concluded Dunlap “posted the (homophobic) tweet himself from his personal cellphone.”
The station alleged that the forensic expert discovered the tweet was sent from an Internet protocol address associated with Dunlap's cell, said the police report, which doesn't elaborate on that point.

@nick_underhill
My wife used to tell me not to go on this radio station because she always felt undertones in their political coverage. Looks like she was right.

More than likely, this will all just go away. He won't be prosecuted, his lawsuit will EVENTUALLY be dropped, he will run home to Portland and no one down here will ever hear from him again.

Lmao that and the idiotic comments aged well.

Hence also the "Pattern of abuse" statement.
They knew they had to make it more about the tweet.

And the lie detector. Wasn't it amazing that they beat wwl's statement by 10 minutes yesterday? They knew this was coming.

Except it is hard to show a pattern without documentation of when and what.
Had he ever reported harassment to WWL over his sexuality?

Because it’s extortion/fraud if he did it and is now retaining a lawyer trying to get something out of it.

@TBob53
I get it man, Entercom is more worried about protecting themselves as a coporation, there are a TON of good people at WWL who’s name is being besmirched right now by terrible corporate leadership, how you don’t stand up for an employee as committed as Seth is beyond comprehension

WWL Radio officials believe the homophobic slur tweeted out from the station’s official account to talk show host Seth Dunlap earlier this month was sent from Dunlap’s personal cellphone, according to a New Orleans Police Department report.
The station also has accused Dunlap, who is 35 and openly gay, of threatening the station that he would go “scorched earth” over the tweet and demanding more than $1.8 million in compensation while he was also facing personal financial troubles, said the police report, which was obtained Thursday through a public records request.
