I thought he was a good sports guy, had a good show. You always knew he was a SJW but he seemed to keep it in check. I guess he knew his audience.

I think we went overboard with his Brees rant... but I didn't think it was some hot, new take. A lot of people earlier that day had been saying the same things. He just ran with it... it wasn't original criticism.

And when he did out himself, I think most sports fans here said, "Meh" and we went on with our lives, because again, he had a pretty good show.

Never thought it would be a precursor to all of this.

Agree with all you said, and the times I heard him, I never picked up on anything that was too SJW-ish.

We all overlooked the most obvious motive in the world for most crimes (b/c we didn't know all the facts):

He did it to get money.

I know several people that know him through work.... nobody is surprised by this

I suspect, possibly, this guy started getting a pretty big cold shoulder from those in and around the Saints org and elsewhere around town based on his goofy hitjob with regard to Brees' innocent little deal and figured this would be his "out" from New Orleans. It wasn't so much that he intended to do this from the get-go, but he put himself in a situation where this appeared a good option to resolve it.

It baffles me that he could be so stupid as to not see the high potential for it backfiring. Somewhat sadly, I have no doubt he will eventually land a gig elsewhere, though.

This makes sense if you ignore the 1.8 M request.

One of the reasons I left broadcasting (besides the overall crap pay) is that a lot of people in that field are egotistical AF.

They think being "on the air" is the greatest thing ever and it really goes to their heads.

I admit this was years ago, but I doubt much as changed.

Oh, I think it's also clear the dude had some money problems and thought this could be a way to cure that as well.

It was like a perfect storm of greedy stupidity. I was just pointing to something that may have possibly triggered/set in motion the whole deal.

I had a class with him for awhile, he seemed OK.

I really like Angela and Meg, great people, and they're in television.

The problems I met were in radio.

Great example of your dishonesty.

I asked the question because my only use of it here was in the context of how people who use the term are really just trying to be funny.

In that context I would use it anywhere. I don’t go around calling homosexuals f@gs. I don’t even do it in this board.

Bill burr says shite for shock value, like a lot of comedians. I generally give them a pass because that’s their job,

That being said, That bit isn’t funny because he said f@g, it just isn’t funny to begin with lol.

What are the funny ways you use that word? Just curious, because it’s derogatory in almost every application.

May want to check yourself for use of derogatory context.
quote:

tard
1. offensive slang A shortening of "retard," a derogatory term for a person who has an intellectual disability (formerly called mental retardation).
A: "Sarah's brother is a tard, so she always has to stay home to take care of him." B: "Why do you always have to say awful things?"
2. offensive slang By extension, a derogatory term for someone who is stupid, foolish, or socially inappropriate.
Stop being such a tard, Tom, and do this the right way.

tard
n. a person who behaves as if retarded. (see also retard. Derogatory and potentially cruel.) You tard! Why did you do that?

Are you retarded? I just told you that I don't do it. However, I think you'd have to be a moron to not realize that the large majority of people who are doing it on this site don't really have problems with homosexuality. They are just doing what people do on the OT for laughs.

And, that was my point. In real life, very few people care that Dunlap or anyone else is a homosexual...hence the need to manufacture the situation.

to further that point...
our society has become so tolerant, that intolerance has to be manufactured

Yeah at this point most folks don't care about an individuals sexual orientation. The whole transgender movement has made regular gay folk seem well regular.
