He's also really good friends with the dude. I can understand that it may not have been a wise decision to call WWL publicly. But I think anyone of us would defend a trusted friend if we sincerely believe they wouldn't do something like this themselves.

Exactly my point.
While it appears likely that this is all a hoax given recent developments (e.g. police report filed by WWL and what that would mean for them legally if they're lying; $1.8M lawsuit followed by WWL's claim of Dunlap's financial situation), it still has yet to be proven, to our knowledge, that Dunlap made it up.
That was my whole point when responding to this TH03 post:

This isnt that hard to find.
The information can be pulled from a wireshark trace or help of the networks.

You can't look at this in a vacuum, though. Who's got more on the line here if they are wrong? There's basically no way a huge corporation asserts what they asserted absent pretty iron clad evidence. You have to realize that, no? If THEY made that up, they're finished.

I’m not an internet expert despite staying at a Holiday Inn Express. But does the network log the MAC address or the device in addition to the IP address?
If so, having that MAC address and linking it to the one on his phone helps lock up even further that he did it.

If you search his mentions no one is mentioning her (unless they're private I guess)
