Would you take a guaranteed Louisiana lotto jackpot or 1:5 Powerball chance?

Guaranteed lotto all the way for me. Winning the Powerball seems like it'd make life too easy. Nothing left to work towards if you had $100M+. Life would become boring if there wasn't any struggle left.

What kind of question is this. Anyone that won’t take the guaranteed money is a moron.

Why gamble when I have a guarantee?

The regret from losing out on the Powerball would be suicidal.

That's a stupid arse question.

Lotto all day unless you're an absolute degenerate fool.

eta: I thought the lotto was always at least $1 million but my answer remains the same.

Current Lotto is $650K. After tax I believe you walk away with $450k. Not set for life but would certainly be nice, I’ll take it

Lotto all day. Lotto money would make retirement come a lot sooner.

What an absolutely retarded question.

Also this will seem fake, but I wouldn't even want to win 100 million, that's an overwhelming amount of money. You can set yourself up high on the hog 1000 times over, take care of every friend and family member you know, set up your great great great grandkids, buy any and every big toy you can dream up, and still hardly make a dent in it. I wouldn't want that over me

So an expected value of $7.4M vs guaranteed win of $650k. $650k would obviously be great but it doesn’t set you for life much less provide for future generations. I’d take the gamble all things being equal. However, if The $650k would allow me to start the business I always wanted or take some trips I always wanted or I’m 55 and can now retire due to winning the $650k then factors like that could change things.

Me, a 33 year old making decent money with room to grow in my career, I’d probably swing for the fences.

It would be quite the struggle fending off the opportunists, hard luck stories and long lost cousins.

Lotto. That is life changing money if you handle it right.
