Frats have many great aspects to them as well though! In a university as large as LSU, making connections without getting lost in the shuffle is difficult. Like everything in life you have to find balance.

My father in law is 60 years old and was a "fratboy" at LSU. He still sees his closest frat brothers nearly every week while hunting, fishing, golfing, or drinking. That connection is invaluable.

I'm a member of an adult organization that plays sports and socializes. I gladly pay dues because my experience with the club has paid me back tenfold through friendships, professional networking, and support in difficult life moments.

Didn't read the thread, haven't read the report, wasn't in a fraternity; but I've heard about some fricked up shite pledges have been forced to do. I wouldn't do half the shite that I know some of my friends did just to get into a fraternity. At the end of the day, I'm a grown man and you wouldn't have to worry about a report being written to the Dean. There's no way I'm eating anything out of a urinal/toilet or anything dealing with another dude's dick; you'd have to kill me - which history has already proven is easier said than done.

I was in a frat during college, in fact I was president for my last semester and we didn't do any of the crap I've read and heard about recently. Yeah, we used to frick with each other a lot, but nothing that was perverse or dangerous. Hell, years later, when we get together we still frick with each other.

If you're actually in the USMC, and that's what you're calling your "frat", fine.

But if you're in South LA and mean one of the frats on campus, I would advise you check the rates at which murders are solved.

This isn't fraternity related, but when I worked at a few bars in small towns, I saw quite a few things devolve quite quickly. A spilled drink can turn into you're lucky you wake up in the hospital.

I've seen passenger Windows busted and a poisonous snake tossed onto the driver floorboard... I'm the type to try to keep my nose clean, but if someone takes a swing because they think their "brothers" have their back, I'll back into a corner and stay standing until my friends finish their drinks.
