If we're thinking about the same kids, just south of Natchez, that was a crazy story. High water. They recovered the boat, with obvious hull damage. Dog lived, they boys (apparently) died. They just disappeared...

Right. I can only hope that she caused that fricker some pain before he killed (speculation at this point, but this is unlikely to have a happy ending) her.
A productive member of society, school teacher, mother of two, getting her miles in in the early morning because of her busy schedule. It makes me sick.

In an unrelated story, some guy from Shreveport was just released from prison after serving 15 years for a crime spree when he was also only 17 years old.
He made it three weeks before he was arrested again this weekend.

In a Bill of Information dated Sept. 7, 2006, the then 17-year-old Lewis was charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder and one count of an attempted armed robbery on May 23, 2006.
He also had five additional armed robbery charges and an aggravated burglary charge that stemmed from a crime spree over the three days of May, 31-June 2, 2006.
It is unknown whether Lewis had any prior criminal convictions, as he turned 17 on Apr. 15, 2006, and anything before that would have been a juvenile offense. Juvenile records are sealed in the state of Louisiana.

Memphis is an absolute shithole.
Memphis isn’t the cause of this type of violence all over the country,
Everyone here knows what the problem is and we can’t say it.

Somehow being a juvenile means that he’s not going to continue being a sociopath with violent tendencies. This guy should have been in jail for life.

The arrest warrant on the Daily Mail site is easily read, barely two pages long, and concisely detailed in its content.
If you haven't read it, you might want to because it's a vivid picture of how the timeline played out.

There are plenty of law abiding, God fearing people in society just trying to make ends meet. The problem, aside from people like you, is that there's a segment that isn't law abiding or God fearing, reinforcing the stereotypes. A well earned stereotype, but not necessarily accurate. But these feral hoodrats are wreaking havoc on society.
However, don't think all poor or black or whatever are the same. They aren't.
ETA: But not Pookie. He's a shitbag and deserves to be put down.

I think it’s time for some changes to these laws. I am not saying automatically unseal but if a juvenile commits a heinous crime — either before or after attaining his/her majority— then the juvie records should be made public. If a kids gets busted for something like stealing a bike etc and doesn’t commit any serious crimes afterwards or as an adult, then let the records stay sealed. The public deserves to know what sociopathic criminals are walking around.

Always seems to be the case. Pretty scary people like this get out.

Yeah, he should not have been out.

In some states, the DA can elect to prosecute a Juvenile as an adult depending upon the nature of the allegations.

Skin him alive piece by piece until he talks. Keep him alive and screaming as long as possible until he talks then drops him off in the middle of the street in whatever shithole area created him

It's Memphis... Probably lots of bodies around the city

I understand sealing juvenile records when a kid steals a bicycle- not that anyone gets sent to prison for stealing a bike. The problem is that Pookie was already so fricked up at 16 that he kidnapped a guy, apparently stole his vehicle, CALLED HIS BUDDIES, and drove around hitting ATMs for a while.
There's no coming back from this kind of behavior. Pookie needs to go. Back when he was 16.
