What doctor do you recommend? I know this has been discussed here before, but a Google search on my phone turned up ads and some story about an Auburn fan
TIA

Is your wisdom tooth impacted. If so your health insurance might cover part of it and your dental will cover the rest. Basically....you wouldn't have to pay out of pocket for it.

At least...that was the case for me over 10 years ago. Also...you DEF want IV sedation, no matter if you have to pay out of pocket for it.

Thanks Nurse. The tooth is fully "erupted" and shouldn't be any problem coming out. I'm paying cash for the whole procedure which is why I'm seeking suggestions on a doc.

Hope you, Butters, and the hubby (lol, I know your dogs name but not your husband's- bout normal) had a good holiday.

No sedation. Did that on the first tooth and hated it. Rather just get the Novocain and a have the tooth pulled.

The other thread told me that "widely recognized etiquette" says that only MD's and DO's are to be addressed as 'doctor' - not dentists.

Please revise your post.

This is what they said:

quote:

Under the widely accepted rules of etiquette , only an MD/DO is expected to addressed as Dr. Yes, it is published in several etiquette guidelines. A PhD, chiro, etc. expecting to be addressed as Dr is erroneous in their self perspective. Truth

That even applies to an Optometrist, who can perform eye surgery. A dentist is lower than an eye surgeon.

You seem to be in some pain, don't let it cloud your judgment. Do you address the dentist by doctor or Mr.?

He is in Erwinville. And, according to the OT, don't call a dentist a doctor.

I call them Dr. I've never had a doctor correct me- whether a DVM,MD, DDS, optometrist, or Chiro. I tend to suck up to those who can (legally) cause me physical pain.

Me too. In what town do you need this recommendation?

I chose all my 'doctors' by (1) being female and (2) looks. Is this acceptable criteria?

Got mine done at this doctor in Metairie. Gave me some shots and I was out of there 5 minutes later minus 4 teeth. IIRC, it was like $65/tooth. I was fine with no swelling or pain after three hours

Was it an attractive female doctor?

Nurse, how is this relevant? Do you call a dentist a doctor, that is the question here?
