I get all of that .. Last winter he was arguing with anyone that disagreed with him and poo poo'ed any forecast that didn't include a blizzard in Nola

I don't dispute this, weather is a crapshoot that anyone can try and predict, I am a prime example of this in the past, I admit. But when you mix this uneducated style of weather forecasting with social media (see DFW Storm Center who created this map), it causes unnecessary panic. The best way to follow weather is to use information from the NWS, which is sometimes disseminated by local social media pages as well. But when these maps, like in OP get posted as well, the public takes note of it and thinks of it as official products from the NWS. This is why I see it from Rag's POV and don't post weather threads like I used to. If we have a discussion about something thats actually happening, or is officially forecasted to happen, sure I'll join in the discussion... but I'm not going to overhype and shite like before.

I'm in Boston, and we've had over 3 feet of snow in the last 3 weeks. Another foot coming Sunday. I'm over snow.

May want to recheck that stat. WWL shows a high of 45 and NWS shows high of 49 on Wednesday.
