Why not believe in God?
I have always believed and always will. But for people who are on the fence, wouldn't you rather believe than not? Just to be on the safe side?

That is a less elegant rephrasing of Pascal's wager. The flaw I have always seen in it is it doesn't address real belief and the need for faith.
I've always preferred an alternative formulation of Pascal's Wager.
If there truly is no God, then everyone who faithfully lived their lives believing God existed will ultimately have the same amount of regret as the atheists: none.

Post less.
Only one God was crucified and rose from the dead. Belief, faith, and worship of Him costs you nothing, while turning away from Him costs eternal life.

Better to believe & be wrong, then not believe & be wrong for eternity
I'm not Team Atheist, btw. Just always bothered by the silly suggestion to 'just believe.'

In an intellectual vacuum, the response to that would be "So?". What evidence does that bring to the table to prove the Judeo-Christian god is the God?

The "one true god" isn't implying there are no other gods....its implying this particular god doesn't lie...aka is true....opposite is the implications behind false gods, as in decietful or telling lies. The Bible actually promotes the fact that there are many gods, but one most high God (el elyon). If there were no other gods there wouldn't be a first or second commandment.

I just try my best to be a good person. I don’t find myself praying all that often

That is a more elegant or at least better explanation of the issue I have with Pascal's wager.

That could be quite a long answer, better suited for those with a better knowledge of scripture, but I'll say this: In human form, God lived on this earth roughly 2000 years ago, yet here you are 2000 years later, posting about Him on a message board. Billions of people around the world believe in Him and His message. That cannot be said for anyone else in earth's history.

I used to think that just being a good person would suffice for me to get to Heaven, but after becoming a Christian I now know that is not true. The ONLY way to Heaven is through Jesus Christ. No shortcuts, no saints, no Mr nice guy. Jesus only. If you just look around you or do just a little research, it is so evident that there is a God.

For anything inside space, time, and matter to exist it must be one of three things:
1) Eternal
2) Self-Created, or
3) Created by something that is eternal
Nothing that exists (even time) is eternal, there is an originating event of some sort - ie the Big Bang.
Nothing is entirely self-created - all existence depends in some way on an external source.
So then, for anything to exist - even you and I - we must recognize we were created by something that is eternal, which is God.
This is not some sort of faith-based teaching or religious viewpoint but a basic fact.

2 Commandments
1. Do Good
2. Be Good
Any benevolent higher power would deem you "good" despite what you do on Sunday AM.
Just my opinion

This. I can't imagine anyone who has ever sat in a tree stand in the pitch black and watched the world wake up around them could ever question if God is real.

Outside of the plural of billions, the previous argument is better for Hinduism. Hindu gods came and lived on Earth at times the religion is more than twice as old as Christianity and over 1 billion people believe in it.
