Why Sonic?

I’m a young baw and fairly new to posting on the OT. I’ve been reading threads on here for a while and only recently started posting for shits and giggles. Does anyone know why Sonic is the meet up spot for posters to “settle their disputes?” Is there an actual reason or story behind it or just because it’s Sonic? I’ve just found the whole thing to be funny and wondered if there was a reason behind it
