Not true. Fastenal In Canada does not drug test. In the us they do.

Unless you microwave your phone, thinking it was a hotpocket, and it blows up. I know, CSB.

Federal... too much money from big pharma...
Louisiana... LSU and Southern lawyers control the legislature and are ensuring that only LSU and Southern can grow weed.

There is psychological addiction though. I know plenty of people that smoke A LOT and feel like they have to. If they don't, they get irritable, anxiety etc. I think it should be legal, definitely as long as alcohol is legal, but the people who act as if weed is completely harmless are kind of ridiculous too.
I've smoked for 20+ years on and off. I sort of know what I'm talking about here. Guess I'm just built different. I can get irritable and anxious for a day or two after not smoking, but it goes away very quickly once it gets out of your system. Yeah, I know you have it in your system for a long period of time, but you don't feel that. It's not like you're feeling the effects for that. Takes like a day to feel back to normal after a period of smoking.
It's more like someone taking away your ice cream. You'll be moody but it's okay. Never heard of anyone sucking dick at the airport for a joint.
I take it you've never done it before?

Can't open an investment account with a lot of firms if you are in the MJ industry unless you lie about your source of income. That shite gets double checked tho so you better have your story straight. I think your discount online brokers tho are less strict.

I 100% agree it shouldn’t be illegal but that also doesn’t mean companies won’t still test for it if they want to correct? The stigma won’t go away over night.

I know a few people with the easily obtainable medical card. All I can say is that the LSU/Southern group that has a monopoly on the medical supply in Louisiana is making an absolute killing. I’d love to see how many legislators are in on that.

Wait, aren't we talking about drinking coffee? Because that's how I am without my coffee. After 3 days, it's all gone though. Kind of like weed.
This is the kind of dishonesty I’m talking about. 1), for a lot of people weed becomes a lifestyle. I doubt coffee was ever the most important thing in your life and what you shaped your days around and if you ever really gave it up for good you’d have to make all new friends and find all new hobbies and 2), I’m sure you’ve been a daily coffee drinker for several years, but let’s just say it’s been 2 years. I’m sure you could quit coffee and after 3 days your brain would probably reset to where it was before you ever had a cup. Do you think someone who smoked pot everyday for 2 years could quit for 3 days and their brains would just magically reset? Not even. Smoking like that permanently changes your brain.
And I know you mean well and am not criticizing you at all personally, just pointing out that the conversations about this have to more honest. You could say that “yeah, but most people won’t turn into daily smokers who make it a lifestyle” and you’d be right. But it’d be more than a lot of people think. Especially today with the internet and social media. That lifestyle is more attractive than ever and there are millions of people living it who’ve never smoked a bowl in their lives.
And alcohol, for all the destruction it can cause, does at least have social benefits. I imagine a lot of us on here—and most places—wouldn’t exist without it. I’m not sure what social benefits pot provides. If anything, it makes people more withdrawn and there’s way too little real life, personal connection in the world right now anyway. You could say a social benefit would be if used as a substitute to alcohol, there would be less of the destruction alcohol causes. In theory, that makes sense. But in my experience, most people who drink and smoke, use pot as a supplement rather than a substitute, so they wind up getting even more fricked up when they drink.
And alcohol has built-in biological deterrents—drink too much and you throw up, drink too much and you feel like shite the next day, drink too much and show your arse, etc…that pot doesn’t. Look, I don’t want to come off some big anti-pot guy—I’m certainly not. I’m all for it and its legalization. But talking about it like it’s coffee/caffeine is doing a disservice to everybody. The conversation on both sides needs to be more honest and complete, so it can be legalized and people can who decide to partake can have all the true information they need to do it responsibly.

If Uncle Sam isn’t getting his tax money, it’s illegal.

Because we still have irresponsible people taht use it at the wrong time and hard to detect unlike alcohol that you can smile after using it.

That is correct. There are companies that test for tobacco and won't hire you if you smoke cigarettes even though they're totally legal. It is their right to do so

quitting coffee/caffeine is wayyy harder than weed. not even close. i'm in the same boat as you in that both sides are dishonest but this is an awful argument.
eta: if i quit caffeine cold turkey tomorrow, i'd have a throbbing headache by 10am. weed has no such effect.

I have already said it is addictive and it’s very likely acid and shrooms are safer for ones body than marijuana.
If we can’t compare it to alcohol we should make alcohol illegal too then. And I don’t think that’s a good idea

When I stopped smoking it took me weeks to get back to normal.

People that are so adamantly against weed are so freaking weird. It definitely lets you know who wants to be in everyone else's business, though.

What's normal and what was happening to you? Withdrawals, murderous thoughts, impotency?
I've stopped several times over the years(usually because of random drug testing) and never had any issues.

Physically, sure. Psychologically, not even. But like I said, I was talking about daily users over years, not somebody that may get high on a Saturday and binge some tv.

I’m not sure where in my post you think I suggested it did. Weed can give you a “fog” hangover the next day, but of course no physical withdrawal symptoms like with caffeine. I’d never dispute that.

Probably but the part they are relying on now is the Federal laws. Federal scheduling makes it where there is no accepted medical use. If they change the schedule and they have a prescription then companies can't fire you for it. They already had a lawsuit for this from a partially paralyzed guy that worked for comcast who had a script for it. Courts said as long as its federally schedule one that law supersedes the state law. The big hang up right now is how to test if someone is impaired from weed as opposed to just having it in their blood stream

I ain't reading all that shite. But I will say that I'm 57 years old, have been smoking weed since 1977, was more or less a daily smoker from about 1980 to 2000, and still smoke occasionally.
Don't lecture me on the weed, man. After 3 days the irritability goes away. Much more like coffee than cigarettes. And, yes, I was a pack a day cigarette smoker for about 30 years.
