They weren't low all over the country.

Gas prices were higher than now during part of his tenure, and then they crashed down as the entire economy went up in smoke.

You and Korkstand are talking about two different recessions. I took Kork to be talking about the dot com pop and you are talking about the housing bubble pop brought on by subprime lending.

Make up your mind about which one we are talking about, please.

Nice comeback. Typical of engineer humor. I know plenty of you. Unimaginative and vanilla but trying so hard not to be. I want you to know that it’s not your fault.

The recession that Bush had nothing to do with? The one from the dot com pop and 9-11?

Would you rather have low gas prices during a recession like Bush had or high gas prices during a recession with an administration promising to end oil as Biden has given us? Then when called out they say just go buy an electric car.

I am no GWB fan but at least he didn't actively rally against O&G and then taunt people when they complain about it while sending billions to other countries.
Wow, did I call the deflection and failure to acknowledge or what?

Tell me, did you really start this thread to learn about market dynamics, or was it yet another setup for some political ranting?

Does it matter? The fact that there are multiple recessions to consider during a single republican's tenure obviously hasn't phased you.

I am deflecting? Tell me what is untruthful in my statement.

Big Wes already gave the answer a few pages back and I thanked him for it.

You and a few others came here trying to defend Biden when no one was blaming him. Pretty insecure of you and them.

Right, there were HUGE fluctuations in gas prices during his tenure. The point is that the price of gas is a very complex issue and can’t be boiled down to “President good/president bad” cave man bull shite.

But yes there is something to be said for a President who has been in office for 7 years to be in place during the worst recession since the 30’s or at the least the 70s. And that’s not all on one person either, but everyone blames Biden for our economic woes now so…

Yes, constantly.

Link to me defending or even mentioning Biden?

How insecure of you is it to make up out of thin air something that I supposedly did to call me insecure about?

then you have more environmental regulations on the vehicles that kill gas milage

You'd think higher mileage is better for the environment, but if you make sense you don't get put in charge of policy.

And you call me obtuse.

Which one of those was directly related to Bush policies

Hint...neither one

Now, which administration signed the Community Reinvestment Act of 1977 into law and started subprime lending?

Which administration in 1995 loosened housing rules by rewriting the Community Reinvestment Act?

I also had no idea Bush was responsible for the dot com crash and not just rampant speculation of overvalued companies.

I don't blame him 100%. I know we have kept money too cheap for far too long amongst other factors but I do blame him for making the downturn worse than it should be. Stop printing money and raising taxes. Trickle-down works both ways. It's pretty simple stuff but Biden isn't making the decisions because he doesn't even know where he is half the time.

The economy is shite now because of Covid. You can’t just shut down huge sectors of the economy for months/years and not expect any consequences. The whole world is facing economic hardships, it’s not because of Biden

You spent a day melting down over the word "Nice" as it applied to your party.

Hypocrite

So none of his policies have made it worse? Raising taxes doesn't make it worse? Printing money for climate change that won't lower the earth's temperatures one bit doesn't make it worse?

Speaking of agendas, I hope the R’s keep pushing outlawing abortion and saying marijuana stinks. That will go over well with the general public.
