What does it have that South Louisiana does not?

I'm hard pressed to imagine a part of the United States with less to offer a visitor from South Louisiana than the I-20 corridor.

Seems like both sides are insecure. They are lying to themselves thinking that their part is better than the other when in reality. It’s the same damn thing.

It ain’t going to roads in South Louisiana either.

Bc they are short people.
They wear gold chains and white rubber boots and have an inferiority complex.

Hate to burst your bubble but Louisiana wouldn’t have an economy if it wasn’t for NO, BR, and the oil/gas south of I-10.
Obviously south has its own problems with corruption and mismanagement and its religion and politics are polar opposites but south of I-10 pays the bills for the rest of the state.

People in South Louisiana have horrible genetics. It comes from being the descendants of a bunch of low bred Canadian criminals. That's why they are so ugly, short, loud and stupid. You'll find that most of the them never leave their fetid, oil soaked squalors and deem everything not from said squalor to be inferior.

New Orleans surrendered without a fight in 1862. North Louisiana sent a Union invasion force hightailing it back to South Louisiana and didn't surrender until well after Appomattox.

The ability to barhop with a drink in your hand.
Beautiful 18th and 19th century architecture.
Several world class museums.
One of the best culinary destination cities in the entire world.
A major university with 100k+ capacity for football games
Professional football and basketball franchises
Nearly weekly festivals featuring live music and local specialty foods
Airboat tours
Mardi Gras balls and parades
Deep Salt water fishing
Nearly every major music industry and comedy tour making a stop in the region
An endless list of famous musicians hailing from the region playing hometown shows
South Louisiana has some very serious problems, but let’s not forget that it also has some serious draws, some of which are entirely unique to the region, and not replicated anywhere else in the world.
What unique experiences exist in North Louisiana other than Poverty Point? Seriously, I want to know.
I’m not saying North Louisiana isn’t a bad place to live. I just want to know why I should visit it rather than visit some other part of the state or country.

I have 40 acres and a very nice house for about half what I would pay for a zero lot line McMansion in a crowded subdivision in SELA. I can get to work in 10 minutes with zero traffic. On the off chance I want to experience any of those South Louisiana cultural amenities (most I give zero fricks about, but a few are alright), they're a reasonable drive away. It snows every 2-3 years, enough to be fun, but rarely enough to be a major inconvenience. And hurricanes are way down my list of potential hazards.

Those are great arguments to live there, but not what I asked. My comment string was motivated by someone who was appalled that folks from South Louisiana rarely, if ever, visit North Louisiana. I asked, well, why should they?
No one has answered that yet with any answer other than Shreveport having a loop. We get it, Shreveport has relatively competent transportation infrastructure. I know when I’m choosing vacation destinations, I mostly care how easily I can navigate rush hour traffic

I'm not asking anyone to visit. I'm not in the tourism business. I certainly would like a lot fewer South Louisiana visitors coming up here to violate our game laws during hunting season.

Huey P. Long and his northern cronies. I find Baton Rouge to be more like North Louisiana than the rest of South Louisiana and have come to the conclusion that it was because of this.
For many years no alcohol in most of North Louisiana, with a few notable exceptions. This is why Hadacol was such a great seller up there.

That contingent was pretty ridiculous.
They are still there. They live in the shadows. They are like New Orleans old money. If you don't run in those circles you will never see them.

They do, but they just do it with family and friends at home rather than at a bar or outdoor festival. So, as an "outsider", you don't get to experience it. In South Louisiana, everyone parties out in public, so outsiders can access the party and become a part of it
I was a bartender in Shreveport for awhile and this is false. People do party in public quite prolifically. Just as much as I have seen while at LSU and in New Orleans or any where in South Louisiana.
